Deceptive Practices

On November 30, 2018 I went to Ron Carter to purchase a vehicle. I told them in advance I was in a bankruptcy and was told by Felipe that they could still work with me. Long story short, finance application was for 0 down, got a call on December 03, 2018 stating I had been approved I just needed to get the paperwork to my bankruptcy attorney, did a 3 way call with Felipe and my attorneys office and was told to fax over the paperwork. Felipe called me back about 5 min. later and told me to come and get the vehicle, I arrived signed more papers and was told that the car was going to be washed, just before I was handed the keys to the vehicle Felipe stated to me that there was a problem and they needed $800.00 dollars down, stated to him I did not have that, and what had happened, he stated he and his GM had overlooked that aspect of the approval and stated he would speak to his GM, GM could override the required $800.00 down payment. So my question to him was, if he can override a finance companies decision, the $8000.00 down payment was not a requirement by the finance company, this is Ron Carter requesting the money. It appears the GM and Felipe tried to play me, this dealership had all day December 03, 2018 to let me know I needed $800.00, yet, instead I was told to pick up the vehicle assuming it was 0 down payment that had been approved by the finance company CPS, the GM /Ron Carter needs to eat that $800.00 down payment or add that to the current 1,000.00 rebate and make it a $1800.00 rebate for misleading me and give me the vehicle I was financed for at 0 down payment.

Regarding payoff on our trade in

November 29, 2018 purchased a Santa Fe Ultimate from Ron Carter Hyundai (Friendswood Texas) traded in our car and as of today January 11, 2019 loan with our existing lender still has not been paid off. I did contact them I was told that a check for the payoff was mailed on December 10th. but it was supposedly mailed to an incorrect address because it never cleared their Bank. But they could not tell me what address it was mailed to. Probably never got mailed out. So, on January 9th. I was told that a new check was issued and overnite by Fedex. Called the lienholder this evening still no payoff. I already made my first payment on the new SUV and a payment on the trade was due on Dec.22nd and another one will be due again real soon. Already showing 30 days past due for the December payment.

Finance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My son recently bought a Camry from this location as a first time buyer. The finance person, Paul Jones, who helped him with his loan lied to me.

I asked about a high amount added to his loan and he said it was related to not having a cosigner, never once mentioned a maintenance agreement. This was a failure on my part because I should've questioned It further but it was late and I was tired. No excuses on my part but I figured since I asked him out right about it that he was telling the truth. They had my son sign all of these documents and without giving us a copy, stating that it had to be checked out by their fraud department.

It came in the mail 3 days later than promised and was dated the day before when I hounded them about not receiving it. Well their fraud department should know that this guy is making underhanded deals for his own compensation. I've called him out on it and he told us we could cancel but it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get a refund. In the meantime, his little deal brought my son's loan note up $50 a month and any interest it incurs while he waits.

I should've read the reviews for this establishment before but our intention was to buy a cheaper Camry which they so conveniently sold just before we got there.

They're business practices are shameful. Beware!

I had the worst experience ever dealing with this dealership. I was approved for 0 down then told i had to pay $2000.00 for tax and titles upfront.

I had 3 different cosigners and i was neither 1 was a good cosign. I felt lied to and discriminated against. I will never refer anyone here.

Run around and LIES

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was informed i was approved for a first time buyer program (which was a lie once i travel from Katy to Friendswood). I asked numerous of times was this info correct before i made that drive. i was informed yes. Once i got there reality hit. My spouse was approved but needed a sponsor ( which was approved also) now all of a sudden additional information is needed. They offered gift cards also which we never got. They sell dreams and fake promises but their real good @ not returning calls.. they get 5 stars for excellence when calling you trying to make you travel to the dealership to burn gas. Then was at the dealership from 10am-1pm for no reason and still was sent through the ringer

Financing

Paul jones lied about sending out my loan documents, apparently, he does not realize the envelope has a datestamp. He also told me the high fee i asked him about was for first time buyer not having a cosigner. Lies. It was for their mantenance agreement that he mentioned nothing about.

Very unprofessional & disrespectful

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Do not buy a car from here they’re putting scams online to draw people to their dealership! I was told so many specials that they had which drew me to pay someone to take me 1 1/2 to Friendswood! We got there and was told a different story the man (Jorge Perales) was very disrespectful sat on the phone with his wife or mom talking about his kids while we’re in the middle of an application we suggested that we wanted to see the car before we let them run my credit omg with my co-signers credit he said no we have to do this friend I explained that I rather look at the car so my brother was walking around the lot looking for the car and come to find out the car I went there wasn’t even on their lot! I texted Jorge an hour beforehand and told him to let me know if someone gets the car so we don’t make a blank trip along with me saving my money from paying someone! So once my brother get there to say the car isn’t there Jorge gets to going off my brother said we want the credit application back because the car isn’t there he says no I’ll shred it for you he wouldn’t even give it to me and it’s my application and he never shred it he put it in a recycling bin so if my credit is ran anyways I’m going to sue the whole department there were workers witnessing whose willing to give a statement if he runs our credit for us to take legal action! They also told us the whole lot is for low income individuals which is another reason why I came a far distance. They’re very unprofessional I called the lady who told me everything and what’s going on she hung up in my face I called back she sent me straight to voicemail. We was promised gas reimbursement of $25 for me coming so far out which we didn’t receive. I came for an 08 Mercedes which was for $5500 they was trying to force me in a car for $15,000 which I didn’t want due to me being a college student only working part time once I told him that he’s like you came here with all these people these babies y’all did not come with her in which they did my brother is a mechanic and used to work for a dealer he was very upset that he couldn’t get over on us. DO NOT GET A CAR FROM HERE!

Fraud alert

I was purchasing a 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Asan and Maria was my sellers. After two days of going back and forth they allowed me to drive off with the car. Every Friday after getting the car they called requesting something. The first call Maria was pushing me to do the survey. I did and she didn’t like my answers. So she called and was blaming me for not getting a bonus. After having the car a month they said I needed to come sign new papers to get a new bank because the first one didn’t go threw. I asked questions about the paper. AT caught attitude with me and was saying he was there to help notbhurt me. But yet a week later I come up there to give them the company I want to go threw. They take the keys and hide the car saying they can’t finance me and I need to find a ride home. I put a 1000 down payment that I’m still waiting to be deposit.

Great work

Jorge Perales was my salesman this weekend. He came through with every promise regarding the deal.

He was also upfront about the deal every step of the way. I am the proud owner of a 2018 Chevy Camaro RS.....

I have told my friends about this dealership and I will continue to refer people here. Even though the drive is long and there is always construction on Houston freeways, it is well worth the drive. They have a great selection of new and pre owned vehicles.

I will be back for my next car.

Also a great thank you to Cesar the sales manager who went totally out of his way to give me a ride to my car on Friday night. we had a great conversation about life, the Lord, fishing and grandkids

Terrible Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Called and spoke with lady, inquired about a particular used vehicle, ask questions and was told to come in. I told her, up front, what I had for down payment and what priced range I needed. I arrived and ask to see her, was ask to wait in chairs on the other side of a white wall. A gentleman approached and called my name. I went with him and ask him where the lady was which I had ask to speak with. He said he was going to help me. He first ask me to complete a short application and I told him I had did this online to save time. He said he couldn't accept that one and I had to do it in person to help prevent identify fraud. Well, what did I do it online for??? Then, he said he would pull up the car and never even ask which car I was wanting to see. He left and came back to get me and started showing me a new vehicle. I told him I had come in to see a used vehicle and he said he couldn't do the low down payment on the used vehicle and I would have to purchase a new one to get the rebates so that it would come out to a low or $0 down payment. First, I didn't come to see a "new" car and I did tell them how much I could afford and exactly what I wanted to see. When I told him again, no and ask for the lady I had spoke to he said "she's just my secretary". I truly don't believe that however, now I was already made and angry. They did go get the used vehicle, I had originally ask to see. Then, proceeded to tell me there was no way I could get into that one without an amount of around $1250 to $1500 down. I left. This is the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with. Nothing about them saved me any time, nothing about them was honest and nothing about them will ever make me return.

I bought a used vehicle Monday. The light was on stating the vehicle needed an oil change. On Tuesday I tell them and the salesman lied and said, the oil was changed and the timer needed to be reset. They reset the light. I checked the oil today and the oil was filthy. The salesman at Ron Carter was dishonest. He could have caused me to mess my engine up. Some women do know about cars.

Used car at a new car price

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Tried to buy a 2018 Sonata with 6000 Dealer miles and it was hilarious their attempts at trying to make their "math" work. They couldn't scribble/mark out fast enough. Tried to sell me a used car at a new car price. I bought a Honda Accord with the same features new with 11 miles for 3k more than this used car. First of all, Hyundai is not Honda - that's 3k there. Second, 6000 miles is work another 3k in my mind (that's the government .54 per mile rate.) The offer wasn't unreasonable. This is the second time I've had problems in buying a car from here. Guess what Ron Carter, someone else has always made me my deal. I'll pay the little more to get the car in the interior and exterior color that my daughter wanted. For this car? No.
